Privacy Policy
Effective September 18, 2026
This policy explains what GoShip collects through its website, interest list, accounts, and email communications, why we collect it, who helps us operate the service, and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
When you join the Shipper or User launch list, we collect the email address and city you provide, which list you joined, the date and version of the policies you accepted, and timestamps associated with your registration.
When you create or use an account, we collect your email address, first and last name, account identifiers, and your selected role as a User or Shipper. Our authentication provider also processes information needed to create, secure, and authenticate your account, including session, device, and security information.
GoShip does not currently collect driver's-license images, government identification, motor-vehicle records, criminal-history reports, vehicle registration, or insurance documents through this site. GoShip has selected Checkr as its planned screening platform, but the current site is not connected and cannot order a report. If Shipper screening opens, we will update this policy and the application disclosure before collecting screening information, explain Checkr's role and the exact data involved, and use an approved secure process rather than general support email.
GoShip does not currently collect payment-card, bank-account, payout, transaction, or tax-identification information through this site. GoShip has selected Stripe Connect as its planned payment and payout platform, but the current site is not connected and cannot authorize a payment or create a payout account. Before payments open, we will update this policy to explain the payment data, transaction records, retention periods, and Stripe's role. Payment and payout details must be collected through an approved provider flow, not support email.
When we send you account, confirmation, support, or other email, our email provider processes information needed to deliver and monitor the message. This may include your email address, the sender, subject, message content, delivery status, communication preferences, and related event data such as delivery, bounce, complaint, suppression, or unsubscribe events.
When you submit a support request, we collect your name, email address, selected role and issue type, description, submission time, and any delivery or case reference you provide. You may optionally provide a phone number and up to three evidence files. Evidence may contain information visible in photos, screenshots, receipts, or PDF documents. Do not submit passwords, complete card or bank numbers, government IDs, or unrelated personal information.
We collect anonymous website measurements such as page views, button selections, form starts, validation outcomes, and completed registrations. Funnel events contain only a predefined event name and category; they do not contain email addresses, entered city text, free-form text, or a persistent visitor identifier.
To protect the form from abuse, we derive a one-way HMAC-SHA256 fingerprint from the requesting IP address. We do not store the raw IP address in the lead or rate-limit tables. Hosting and third-party providers may process ordinary request information such as IP address, browser type, device information, and timestamps in their own service logs.
How we use information
- Maintain the Shipper and User launch lists and understand demand by city.
- Contact you about GoShip availability, driver opportunities, launch updates, and related onboarding based on the list you joined.
- Create, authenticate, personalize, secure, and support your account.
- Display your name and maintain your selected User or Shipper role and related access.
- Send transactional, support, and opted-in promotional email and monitor delivery.
- Receive, investigate, document, respond to, and decide support requests, safety reports, claims, and appeals.
- Prevent spam, fraud, misuse, and security incidents.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and improve the site.
- Comply with applicable law and protect GoShip, visitors, and others.
Service providers and embedded services
We use Vercel to host the website and provide cookie-free, aggregated page-view analytics. We use Neon to store registration, rate-limit, and anonymous funnel-event data. These providers process information for us to operate and improve the site.
We use Clerk for account creation, user management, authentication, and session security. Clerk processes account and authentication data for us, including your name, email address, account identifiers, role metadata, session information, and security-related device or request information. Learn more in Clerk's Privacy Policy.
We use Resend to deliver confirmation, account, support, and other email and to route structured support requests to the GoShip support mailbox. Resend processes message and delivery data for us, including recipient and sender addresses, subject lines, message content, attached evidence, and delivery events. Learn more in Resend's Privacy Policy.
If marketplace payments open, we plan to use Stripe Connect to process User payments, onboard Shipper payout accounts, move funds, issue refunds, manage payment disputes, and support required tax reporting. Stripe will receive payment, identity, bank, transaction, device, and tax information needed for those services under Stripe's Privacy Policy. This planned processing is not active on the current site.
The landing page offers an optional Google Maps preview that connects to Google only after you choose to load it. When the preview loads or you open Google Maps, Google may receive technical information about your browser or request under Google's Privacy Policy.
We do not currently sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Cookies and authentication
Clerk uses cookies, session tokens, and similar technologies that are necessary to authenticate you, keep you signed in, protect your account, and prevent misuse. These account-security technologies are separate from advertising tracking. Your browser may let you block cookies, but doing so can prevent account features from working.
Retention
Shipper and User launch-interest records are retained for up to 24 months after the most recent registration update, unless we need to keep them longer for an active relationship, a legal obligation, security, or dispute resolution. Communication preference and suppression records may be retained longer when needed to honor an unsubscribe, prevent unwanted delivery, or document consent. Our application runs an authenticated daily cleanup to remove inactive registration records after the retention period and may also remove them during registration processing.
Account information is generally retained while your account remains active and for as long as reasonably necessary afterward to complete deletion, maintain security and audit records, resolve disputes, comply with law, and enforce our agreements. You can permanently delete your account from Profile & Security or contact us if you cannot access those controls.
Support requests, attached evidence, and related decisions are generally retained while the case is active and for up to 24 months after closure. GoShip may retain a record longer when reasonably needed for safety, fraud prevention, insurance, payment disputes, legal claims, or legal obligations.
Resend states that email data is generally retained for 30 days under its standard service. That period may vary with our service configuration, Resend's current terms, or legitimate security and legal needs.
Anonymous funnel events are retained for up to 13 months. Vercel page-view analytics follow the retention period available under our Vercel plan.
Rate-limit fingerprints are eligible for deletion after 24 hours and are included in the daily cleanup. Hosting and security logs are retained according to provider settings and legitimate operational or legal needs.
You may request deletion sooner by emailing support@go-ship.co. We may ask you to verify control of the email address before completing a request.
Your choices
You can use the one-click unsubscribe header or secure Email Preferences link in a GoShip launch email to stop promotional messages immediately. You may also contact support. Transactional messages—such as account verification, security, support, receipts, and service notices—are separate and may still be sent when necessary to provide the service.
You can update your name, verified email addresses, password, and other authentication methods from Profile & Security. You can also review active sessions and permanently delete your account there. You may ask us to access, correct, or delete other driver-list or account information, including your role. We may ask you to verify your identity or control of the relevant email address before acting on a request. Deleting an account ends access to its account features. Rights may vary based on where you live.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed for the information collected by this site. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
GoShip's driver list and account services are intended for adults who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child submitted information, contact us so we can delete it.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will post the revised version and effective date here. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to support@go-ship.co.
